Emeryville Child Development Center Now Enrolling!
The Emeryville Child Development Center, a city-operated program located at 1220 53rd Street, provides child care for children ages 4 months to age 5, Monday-Friday, during extended business hours. Currently, the Center has subsidized openings for children age 3-5 from income eligible families and market rate openings for children 4 months to age 5.
The Center, which has been recognized as being one of the leading childcare/pre-school centers in the East Bay, is dedicated to providing children with daily experiences filled with learning, laughter, and love. The Center is staffed by professional caregivers who help children achieve growth in all areas of their development. Opportunities abound daily for each child to explore, create, experiment, and savor the rewards that come with success.

27th Annual Celebration of the Arts Exhibition: Call for Artists
The 27th Annual Emeryville Celebration of the Arts Exhibition is inviting artists and craftspeople living in and/or working in Emeryville to submit works for consideration for the upcoming juried art exhibit to be held October 5-27, 23013. Applications must be received on June 7, 2013. Visual as well as performance art will be considered for inclusion in the exhibition. There is no entry fee to apply, but artists/craftspeople that are selected to be part of the exhibition must volunteer a minimum of 3.5 hours or pay a $75 fee to this community event.
Selection of work will be by studio, home, or workplace visit or at the Celebration of the Arts’ office. Work will be viewed ONLY in Emeryville. CDs of work may be submitted instead of a studio visit and studio/work visits will be through assigned appointments. Only works not previously shown at the Exhibit will be eligible and applicants are encouraged to show work completed in the last five years. Artists will be notified in early August about whether their work was selected. For more information or to download an application go to the Celebration of the Arts website.

City Council/City Council as Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency
The next City Council/City as Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21. Meetings are broadcast live and rebroadcast on ETV: Channel 27 and can be viewed live and are archived on the City’s website. Finalized Council/Agency agendas and agenda reports are viewable/can be downloaded through the City's website starting the Friday before the meeting.
Emeryville Oversight Board
The regular Emeryville Oversight Board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 28. Meetings are broadcast live and rebroadcast on ETV: Channel 27 and can be viewed live and are archived on the City’s website.The Emeryville Oversight Board is charged with determining which remaining financial obligations of the former Emeryville Redevelopment Agency are enforceable obligations under AB26x, the State law that eliminated all redevelopment agencies and requires that funds not needed to fulfill enforceable obligations are remitted to State and other regional/local regional taxing agencies.
