Bicycling


Bike Locker Program

The Bike Locker Program is administered by the Public Works Department. Store your bicycle at the Emeryville Amtrak Station for safety, ease, and convenience. Rent is only $25 per year with a $75 refundable key deposit. Proof of ID is required. For information or to sign up, call (510) 596-3728.

Transit
Emery Go Round is a free bus shuttle service connecting Emeryville's employers and shopping centers with the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), seven days a week. The Emery Go Round runs from the MacArthur BART station. 
NextBus provides real time arrival/departure information for each shuttle stop.  In addition,  AC Transit, the East Bay’s regional mass transit provider has routes through Emeryville, connecting to various regional destinations. TransitInfo offers integrated transit information covering a wide service area in the East Bay, including a trip planner feature.

Rail
Emeryville’s Amtrak Station (5885 Horton Street) is one of the 10th busiest in the nation, with both interstate and intercity (commuter) lines passing through the station each day.  Amtrak operates the interstate passenger trains, serving destinations from Washington to Southern California as well as to Chicago and the East Coast.  The Capitol Corridor is the intercity (commuter) rail service that runs from Sacramento to San Jose.

Other Transportation Alternatives

ZipCar

Zipcar operates six carshare pods in Emeryville.  Carshare is a membership based “pool car” program, with gasoline, insurance, and other operating costs subsumed under a low cost fee.  For regional travel, Zipcar has reciprocal pods in San Francisco and in other East Bay cities.

Guaranteed Ride Home

The Guaranteed Ride Home Program provides emergency rides home to commuters that take alternative transportation.


Senior / Paratransit

East Bay Paratransit gives rides to people who have a disability or a health condition that prevents them from using buses or BART trains. AC Transit and BART established this service to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. East Bay Paratransit takes riders from where they are to where they want to go, in a sedan or lift-equipped van (reservation only).

Taxi Reimbursement Program 

The City’s Taxi Reimbursement Program  is a taxi-cab/taxi-van based program that reimburses seniors and the disabled for certain travel. For more information about this program, contact the Senior Center.


8-To-Go

The City’s 8-To-Go On-Demand Senior Van Program provides on-demand service to Emeryville seniors and disabled community.  This free service provides wheelchair accessible service for seniors in and around Emeryville and to our neighboring cities.  For more information, contact the Senior Center.
